Childhood wounds can come from a variety of sources. Some examples include growing up in an alcoholic household, a history of physical, emotional, or sexual abuse, emotional neglect, cultural or religious restrictions, unacceptance of one's sexual orientation or gender identity, a history of being bullied, and much more. Some childhood wounds can form even from seemingly inconsequential circumstances or even a single word or look.
Deep wounds from childhood can cause the formation of negative thoughts or beliefs that end up subconsciously driving patters of thought and behavior that no longer serve a person. I work with my clients to identify those wounds and start healing them. That leads to powerful changes in the internal dialogue and a greater sense of purpose and power.
